Jennifer L. Smith

Jennifer L. Smith joined Citizens as Vice President - Community Development Market Manager, NYC Metro in April 2022. She serves as a liaison between the bank and the community, focused on leading and coordinating Citizens’ compliance with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). In this role, Jennifer leads the local Financial Empowerment Community Ambassador initiative, focusing on financial education programming for youth, adult and small business audiences. Previously, Jennifer was Community Development Officer for the New York region of Investors Bank. Jennifer spearheaded the development of the Investors Bank The Art of Thriving New York Not-for-Profit conferences and the bank’s sponsorship of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce annual Not-for-Profit Symposium. She also served on the New York and Employee Resource committees of the Investors Bank Women’s Council and the Vetting Committee for the Investors Foundation.

 

Jennifer is the chair of the Nominating & Governance Committee of the YWCA Brooklyn Board of Directors and is a member of the Advisory Council for Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen in Manhattan, NY and the Council of Advisors of Community Development Long Island. She is a member of the Financial Women’s Association and Women in Housing & Finance.

 

Jennifer earned a Master of Science degree in Nonprofit Management from the Milano School of Policy, Management, and Environment at The New School for Public Engagement in New York City. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Art History. Jennifer resides in Brooklyn, NY with her husband, Allan, and 9-year-old son, Griffith.
